Eagle is a Ron Holland design 42 with a solid racing history in the Great Lakes and increasingly on the east coast. Growing up in Maine, Bob has been a lifelong sailor owning a series of boats including two Sabre’s and a J-44 prior to owning a Swan. While only a Swan owner for a few years he impressed by the construction and feeling of safety when offshore and looks forward to the many weeks of enjoyment aboard Eagle annually.
Bob has participated in several Newport to Bermuda Races, Marion-Bermuda and Marblehead- Halifax races and cruises regularly on the Maine coast. In addition he owns a tourism based company in Charleston that includes an 85’ three masted schooner – the PRIDE.
Bob began working with Ray Peterson, Hank Schmidt and John Santa to re-vitalize the SOA in 2007, hoping to add value to the ownership experience via an active owners association and serving in a leadership capacity. They committed to doing just that and maintaining an open communication and relationship with the Nautor –Swan factory and offices.
