Fall Swan Rally
Each Year Many Swan owners leave New England for the Caribbean about the same time after Hurricane season. By picking a date and going as a group under the auspices of a rally owners can save money and enjoy a few socials. The savings come by using a shared weather router, discount dockage in Newport and Bermuda, no head tax in Bermuda, and having a fuel truck make a delivery with duty free fuel in Bermuda.
The model and logistics for the rally are already in place. In the 1990’s Swan had a charter fleet that was based in Newport Rhode Island for the summer and Anse Marcel in St Martin during the winter. In 2000 a rally was organized to move the 10 Swans south along with any other Swan owner or boat owner who wanted to join the annual migration south. The NARC Rally (North American Rally to the Caribbean) has been held every year since then. The 2008 running of the event will include a special Swan division (call it the SNARC). The departure date is Monday October 27th2008.
During the SNARC Rally it is easier to get free crew to pay their own way since they get the added socials and networking that this annual rally provides (See Free Swan Crew Networking Service). Swan owners that get in touch with us well in advance and want to offer their boats in our Swan Offshore Program may save even more. Professionally maintained and crewed boats are welcome to join us.
